As an associate professor and educator, my job is to save the world! I try to do this in two ways: research and teaching. You can find more in the lines below.
In research I focus on the issues at hand: decarbonizing the economy in developed countries and providing energy access to alleviate poverty in developing countries. This is done in practice through my work on software defined power converters. By trying to create power converters that are reusable, reprogrammable and cheap I strive to make electricity accessible to anyone wishing to understand it. As power electronics is the key to handle batteries, PV, electric machines and more, software defined power converters will allow practitioners to develop solutions going from electric mobility to water pumping.
