Description : The problem : In the bus transportation company business in Africa, lack of visibility and on-real time data is a liability. In this case, making quick decisions is impossible and expanding a business is a risk.

The solution : Founded in 2013 in Rwanda by Moussa Habineza KHENZ LTD is a software development company that develops a digital ticketing platform for long distance Bus operators. Available on iOS, Android and USSD, KHENZ LTD also provides tracking service for precious goods moving one point to another in the public transport. Payment is ensured through electronic payment such as MMO (Mobile Money Operators and online payment services thanks to APIs. The monitoring system provided by KHENZ LTD allow bus operators transport companies to see every transaction that is made, recorded in real time thanks to the platform back office. This system can also be used to monitor sales, periods when more buses are needed, the time of the day when most tickets are sold and finally the time and place to allocate buses. The electronic point of sale is a hand-held machine that prints tickets on customer demand at stations and other off-bus locations in the form of electronic kiosks.

State of development : Since its launch, KHENZ LTD gathered a team of 24 members and partners like RURA

Within the context of Digital solutions in Africa : Digital Bus ticketing platforms are emerging in the continent and offer some practical advantage rot users and operators. In addition to the visibility KHENZ LTD gives to operators it offers centralized control and standardized and automated process for them to increase productivity adopting better practices.

Appreciation: KHENZ LTD media activities seem to have stopped since 2016 but its notoriety among existing bus operators partners remains scarce. Further information regarding development growth and perspectives are unfound.
