Description : The problem : Alger and Oran inhabitants are experiencing stress due to traffic and parking problems.

The solution : TemTem was founded in 2017 by Kamel Haddar. TemTem which means « right away » in Algerian is an on demand private taxi web platform and application solution that operates in Alger and Oran in Algeria. Based on Uber application model launched by Casbatech startup studio, it is considered as a premium service. Available 24/7, clients can book a trip or a private driver for 4 or 8 hours, choose a city car or a berline and track the driver's progress by GPS to obtain a reliable real-time estimate of waiting time. Cars also provides charging services for phones and a wifi connection. At very competitive prices, TemTem provides automated invoice, 24/7 customer service, 3500 dinar (26€) for a 4 hour - booking or 875 dinar per hour (6,50€) and 5900 dinar (44€) for a 8 hour - booking or 738 dinar per hour (5,5€).

State of development : Since August 2017, as part of its development, TemTem plans to recruit 30,000 drivers over 5 years in 2018 they registered around 100 drivers. Tem Tem garanties a minimum wages of 35 000 dinar (259€). In 2019, Temtem launched a moto taxis service for people and sending parcels.

Ambitions: Providing transport closer to the population needs, for women who want to subscribe to a monthly offer for exemple.

Within the context of Urban Transport in Africa : On demand private taxi solutions appear more and more in Africa but only two exist in Algeria. TemTem benefits from a growing market and an insufficient transport supply. In Cairo, the market is booming, 50 000 drivers are present in the city in Morocco between 30 000 and 40 000 trips were registered in 2018.

Appreciation: TemTem is a high quality transport service that seems to address the population needs of transport and is also welcomed by diaspora members at their arrival in the country.
